What Is the Green Tractor Scheme?
The CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme is a government subsidy program that makes tractor ownership affordable for small and medium farmers by paying Rs. 10 lakh per unit directly toward the purchase price. Farmers select a tractor model from approved manufacturers — including Millat Tractors, Al-Ghazi Tractors, Ghazi Tractors, Burraq Tractors, and others — in the 50 HP to 85 HP range.
The scheme uses a computerised balloting draw to select beneficiaries. Every eligible applicant goes into the digital draw. Winners are notified by SMS. There is no manual shortlisting and no favouritism — the Agriculture Department conducts the balloting under official supervision, according to agripunjab.gov.pk. A dedicated helpline at 0800-17000 handles queries Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM.
Who Is Eligible for the Green Tractor Scheme?
All of the following conditions must be met at the same time:
- Permanent Punjab resident with a valid CNIC
- Own agricultural land of 5 acres or more in your own name — verified through revenue records or Agriculture Department field visits
- Must not be a Kissan Card defaulter — outstanding dues automatically disqualify you
- Must not have previously received a tractor under Green Tractor Scheme Phase 1, Phase 2, or the Wheat Incentive Program — past winners cannot apply again
- Tractor received under the scheme must remain registered in your name for at least three years — resale or transfer before this period is a legal offense under the program terms
Priority in balloting is given to small farmers and active Kissan Card holders.
Which Tractors Are Available?
Farmers select their preferred tractor brand and model during the application. Available manufacturers include Millat Tractors, Al-Ghazi Tractors, Ghazi Tractors, Burraq Tractors, and Orient Automotive. Current phases cover tractors in the 50 HP to 85 HP range. The tractor brand and model you select during registration cannot be changed after the application is submitted — choose carefully based on your farming needs.
Required Documents
- Valid CNIC — clear scan front and back
- Land ownership proof — verified Fard-e-Malkiyat or registry documents showing 5 or more acres in your own name
- Mobile number registered under your own CNIC
- Passport-size photograph — recent and clear
All documents must be valid and up to date. The Agriculture Department verifies land ownership through revenue records and may conduct field visits — submitting false land details is treated as fraud.
How to Apply Online — Step by Step
- Go to gts.punjab.gov.pk when the next phase registration window opens.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC number and your registered mobile number on the portal.
- The system verifies whether you own 5 or more acres of agricultural land. If your land record is verified, your application proceeds.
- Select your preferred tractor brand and model from the dropdown menu — 50 HP to 65 HP or 75 HP to 85 HP depending on the phase.
- Accept the terms and conditions.
- Complete the captcha verification and click Submit.
- You will receive an SMS confirmation that your application has been registered for balloting.
- Save your application reference number.
How to Apply Offline
Farmers whose land records are not in the computerised system can apply offline. Collect a physical application form from your nearest Agriculture Department office or download it from agripunjab.gov.pk. Fill in your CNIC number, mobile number, land ownership details, district, tehsil, village name, and preferred tractor brand and model. Submit the completed form at your District Agriculture Department office before the registration deadline.
How the Balloting Process Works
After the registration window closes, all eligible applications go into a digital computerised draw conducted by the Punjab Agriculture Department. The draw is held under official supervision. Winners are announced publicly — the winners list is published at agripunjab.gov.pk and at gts.punjab.gov.pk.
Winners are notified by SMS to the mobile number registered in their application. Check your result at gts.punjab.gov.pk using the “Check Winner Status” tab and enter your CNIC.
What to Do After Winning the Balloting
If your name appears in the balloting result, act immediately — delays beyond the stated deadline result in cancellation of your allocation.
- Visit your District Agriculture Department office and collect your official Offer Letter or Allotment Letter. Bring your original CNIC and all land documents.
- Take the Offer Letter to the Bank of Punjab branch specified on the letter and make the required deposit — the amount you pay is the tractor’s market price minus the Rs. 10 lakh subsidy.
- Complete document verification at the BOP branch and at the Agriculture Department as guided.
- Your tractor is then released to you from the designated distribution point.
- The tractor is registered in your name. It must remain in your name for three full years — do not sell or transfer it during this period.
What to Do When Something Goes Wrong
Application Submitted but Status Not Showing After 72 Hours
Wait 48 to 72 hours for the system to fully process your application. Then check at gts.punjab.gov.pk with your CNIC. If your application still does not appear, call the Agriculture Department helpline at 0800-17000 — Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM — with your CNIC and the mobile number you used during registration. Do not submit a duplicate application — this may flag your entry as fraudulent.
Captcha Error During Online Registration
The GTS portal can slow significantly under heavy traffic at peak registration periods. Try accessing the portal early in the morning before 7 AM or after 10 PM. Clear your browser cache before retrying. If the captcha continues to fail, try a different browser. If you are on mobile data, switch to Wi-Fi or try again on a desktop.
Selected in Balloting but Offer Letter Not Available at Office
Visit the District Agriculture Department office with your CNIC and your SMS confirmation of selection. Ask for the Allotment Letter specifically. If the officer says the letter has not arrived, ask for a written acknowledgment of your selection and request the expected date. Call 0800-17000 and report the delay with your CNIC — this creates a complaint record that the department can track.
Not Selected in Phase III — What Next
Phase III balloting is complete. Watch gts.punjab.gov.pk and agripunjab.gov.pk for the Phase IV announcement. When Phase IV opens, apply again through the same portal. Past unsuccessful applicants are eligible to apply in every new phase as long as they continue to meet the land and eligibility criteria. Keep your land records and CNIC updated between phases so your application processes without issues when the next phase opens.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the subsidy amount under the Green Tractor Scheme 2026?
The scheme provides a flat subsidy of Rs. 10 lakh per tractor, according to the Punjab Agriculture Department at agripunjab.gov.pk. This amount is deducted from the tractor’s market price — you pay the remaining balance. The subsidy is not given as cash but applied directly to the tractor purchase through the Bank of Punjab and the manufacturer.
How many tractors are being distributed in 2026?
Phase III distributed 9,500 tractors. The total annual target for 2026 is 20,000 tractors under a Rs. 30 billion agricultural mechanisation budget, according to official Punjab government announcements. Phase IV will be announced at agripunjab.gov.pk when registration opens.
Can I sell my tractor after receiving it?
No. Any tractor received under the Green Tractor Scheme must remain registered in the recipient farmer’s name for at least three years from the date of issue. Selling, transferring, or gifting the tractor before this period expires is a legal offense under the program’s terms, according to the Agriculture Department’s program conditions.
Do I need a Kissan Card to apply for the Green Tractor Scheme?
The Kissan Card is not a mandatory requirement for application — but active Kissan Card holders receive priority in balloting. Being a Kissan Card defaulter, however, disqualifies you from the Green Tractor Scheme entirely. If you are not yet a Kissan Card holder, see the Kissan Card Punjab guide for how to apply.
How do I check my Green Tractor Scheme balloting result?
Go to gts.punjab.gov.pk after the balloting date. Click “Check Winner Status” or the Phase-specific result tab. Enter your 13-digit CNIC number. The portal shows whether you were selected. You will also receive an SMS to your registered mobile number if selected. Check the Agriculture Department’s official site at agripunjab.gov.pk for the balloting date announcement.
